These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Nerusa website, application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated at nerusa.ai. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Nerusa provides AI-assisted translation of academic and patent documents. Supported upload formats include Word (.docx), LaTeX (.tex), and PDF (.pdf). The Service supports translation between many language pairs and may change supported languages, file limits, and features over time.
Translations are generated using automated systems, including third-party AI models. Output is provided for your convenience and is not a substitute for professional human translation, legal review, or publication-ready editing.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
When you register, you provide information such as your name and email address. You agree that this information is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.
You retain ownership of documents and other materials you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Nerusa a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service, including sending content to AI and infrastructure providers as needed to perform translation.
Uploaded files are stored temporarily. Files are deleted after you download the translated result or after a short retention period (currently one hour), whichever occurs first, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve a billing or support issue.
We may retain metadata about your translations—such as filenames, language pairs, job status, timestamps, and usage counts—for billing, history, security, and service operation.
AI-generated translations may contain errors, omissions, or inappropriate phrasing. You are solely responsible for reviewing output before use in research, publication, patent filing, legal proceedings, or any other purpose. Nerusa does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, confidentiality of model training practices by third-party providers, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Some features require a paid plan or one-time purchase. Prices, quotas, and plan features are described on the Service and may change with notice where required.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing or purchasing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your selected payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Taxes may apply.
Refunds are handled at our discretion except where required by law. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us promptly at us@nerusa.ai.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Nerusa and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or proprietary materials except as needed to use the Service.
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account closure by contacting us@nerusa.ai. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or to protect the Service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NERUSA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NERUSA AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO NERUSA IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
