This Privacy Policy explains how Nerusa (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and translation service at nerusa.ai(the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

• Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you subscribe to a paid plan, we also store billing identifiers such as your Stripe customer and subscription IDs.
• Translation activity. We record metadata about your jobs, including uploaded filenames, source and target languages, job status, timestamps, token usage, and download history. We do not permanently retain uploaded or translated file contents after processing is complete.
• Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Stripe processes payment details according to its own privacy policy.
• Technical information. Our servers may receive standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
• Local browser storage. The web app may store non-sensitive preferences in your browser, such as sidebar width, using local storage.

We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure completed purchases (for example, plan upgrades and paper credits). This helps us understand which ads lead to paid conversions. Google may set or read cookies or similar technologies for this purpose. See Google's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
• Authenticate you and manage your account;
• Process translations and deliver results;
• Enforce plan limits, billing, and usage quotas;
• Display your translation history within the app;
• Respond to support requests and communicate about the Service;
• Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. AI Processing and Service Providers

To perform translation, we send document content and related instructions to third-party AI providers. Currently, translation is powered by DeepSeek. These providers process content on our behalf to generate translated output.

We also use infrastructure and software providers that help us run the Service, including:

• Stripe for payments and subscription management;
• Google Ads for measuring purchase conversions from advertising;
• Hosting, reverse proxy, and TLS providers for secure delivery of the Service;
• Open-source document processing libraries used to extract and rebuild document content.

These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for us and are subject to their own privacy and security obligations.

4. File Retention

Uploaded source files and generated translation files are kept only temporarily. They are deleted after you download the result or after a short retention window (currently one hour), whichever comes first.

We retain account information, billing records, and translation metadata for as long as your account is active and as needed for billing, support, security, and legal compliance.

5. Cookies and Session Data

When you sign in, we set an HttpOnly session cookie that keeps you authenticated. This cookie is used for login state and security. Separately, Google Ads may use cookies or similar technologies to measure ad conversions when you complete a purchase.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With service providers that help us operate the Service, under confidentiality obligations;
• With AI and payment providers as described above;
• If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request;
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of Nerusa, our users, or others;
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including password hashing, HTTPS encryption in transit, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access personal information we hold about you;
• Correct inaccurate account information through your account settings or by contacting us;
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal information;
• Object to or restrict certain processing, where applicable;
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, email us@nerusa.ai. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. International Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we take steps designed to protect information transferred internationally.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
